The Turkmenistan portal reported on March 3 that the potato planting area in Turkmenistan this year reached a record of about 1,500 hectares, and it will be harvested twice a year, with the first harvest in May. This spring, it is estimated that about 140 quintals of potatoes per hectare can be harvested (1 quintal=100 kg). The soil is vigorously developing potatoes, vegetables, melons and other crops. The sown area of these crops in Lebap State alone exceeds 55,000 hectares.
