Recently, the Crop Genome Selection and Breeding Innovation Team of the Institute of Crop Science of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences cooperated with Kansas State University in the United States to assemble the genome of the important maize inbred line A188. Based on high-quality genome assembly, this study deeply analyzed the gene expression and DNA methylation characteristics of maize callus, and used comparative genomics methods to reveal the important impact of genome structural variation on maize traits. On June 9, related research results were published online in Genome Biology.
