Chromosome level genome assembly of the first leguminous green manure crop completed

Recently, the fertilizer and fertilization technology team of Institute of agricultural resources and agricultural regionalization, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences completed the first chromosome level reference genome assembly of leguminous green fertilizer Astragalus, and analyzed the genetic basis of symbiotic nodulation of Astragalus by using comparative genomics. This study fills the gap in the genomics of leguminous green manure crops and provides a new insight into the symbiosis between leguminous plants and rhizobia. Relevant research results were published in plant communications.

Recently, the fertilizer and fertilization technology team of the Institute of agricultural resources and agricultural regionalization, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences completed the assembly of the chromosome level reference genome of the first leguminous green fertilizer Astragalus, providing information resources for molecular breeding and genetic improvement of Astragalus. Comparative genomics was used to analyze the genetic basis of symbiotic nodulation of Astragalus, which provided a new insight into the symbiosis of legumes and rhizobia. The relevant research results were published in the International Plant Science Journal plant communications.
