Tanzania releases draft standards on food contact materials

In April 2021, the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) issued a draft standard, which puts forward limit requirements for the content of heavy metals and the total amount of aromatic amines in food contact materials (FCMs). In addition, it has notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) a positive list of colorants and dyes that are allowed to be used in food contact materials.
