On July 19, the renovation and upgrading of the hokittica factory of New Zealand wesland dairy under Yili Group and the launch ceremony of the new production line of westgold butter were held in the plant. After the new production line was put into operation, the annual production capacity of high-quality forage butter doubled to 42000 tons, making it the largest butter factory on the west coast of New Zealand and the largest butter factory built overseas by Chinese dairy companies.

In order to meet the demand of global consumers for high-quality butter, Yili launched the”Goldrush” project on March 24, 2021 to comprehensively upgrade the hokittica factory located on the west coast of New Zealand. Relying on the strong capital, technology and resource support of Yili, the project construction was orderly promoted, and the project was successfully put into operation, and the production capacity reached the expected planning. Muen butter is no longer exclusive to baking masters, but will also go to the table of more ordinary consumers.
New Zealand is one of the major butter producers in the world and plays a decisive role in the global butter market. The history of muen butter can be traced back to 1893. Using the natural grass fed milk source from the South Alps pasture on the west coast of New Zealand, and adhering to the local traditional processing technology, the butter produced is rich in nutrition, rich in taste, golden in color, and has become the favorite of many consumers.
Richard wise said,”after the upgrading of the hokittica factory, the world-class production equipment is adopted. At the same time, we will continue the traditional production process, so that muen butter always represents the highest quality of New Zealand butter.”
Three years ago, Yili successfully acquired Westland dairy, New Zealand’s second largest dairy company, and built a”dairy bridge” across the Pacific Ocean from Inner Mongolia prairie in the northern hemisphere to the west coast of New Zealand in the southern hemisphere. Yili incorporated wesland dairy into the global operation system, gave it comprehensive empowerment, and achieved double increases in output and income. In the first half of this year, Westland dairy achieved the most brilliant performance growth.
Relying on Yili global network, muen butter has been listed in more than 20 countries and regions, including China, the United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, etc. At the same time, Yili professional dairy products produced by Westland dairy – globegroup select butter and globegroup select cream have also been fully listed in China. Richard wise is full of expectations for the bright future of Westland dairy:”with the support of Yili Group, the development of Westland dairy has inspired every employee and partner, and we are full of confidence in the future development.”
