(hereinafter referred to as maizer company), and immediately urged Xinjiang market supervision bureau to investigate maizer company and dispose of it according to law. Xinjiang market supervision bureau and Changji Market Supervision Bureau immediately organized an investigation and spot check of the products of maizer company. After preliminary investigation and analysis, propylene glycol was detected in maizer pure milk because the enterprise used food additive essence beyond the scope in the production process.
According to the provisions of the national food safety standard for the use of food additives (GB 2760-2014) and the national food safety standard for essence for food (GB 30616-2020), propylene glycol is an approved food additive and a permitted solvent in the permitted synthetic flavors and essence for food. The maximum usage of food additive propylene glycol in raw and wet flour products and cakes is 1.5g/kg and 3.0g/kg respectively. Propylene glycol should not be used in pure milk. The State Administration of market supervision organized sampling inspection of 23 batches of pure milk produced by 14 enterprises with high market share and pure milk produced by maizer company. The results showed that propylene glycol was detected in only 6 batches of pure milk produced by maizer company, and the detection value was 0.264 g/kg-0.363 g/kg. The State Administration of market supervision requires Xinjiang market supervision bureau to find out the illegal facts of maixier company as soon as possible, strictly investigate and deal with it according to law, and timely announce the investigation and treatment.
