On July 11, an academic conference with the theme of”practicing the big food concept and exploring the development path of edible fungi industry” was successfully held, which was hosted by the Chinese Agricultural Association, organized by the edible fungi branch of the Chinese Agricultural Association and the edible fungi Institute of the Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and co organized by the national edible fungi industry technology system and the edible fungi Professional Committee of the Chinese Mycological Association.
 
Four academicians and experts, Li Yu, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, pan Yingjie, Professor of Shanghai Ocean University, Zhang Jinxia, researcher of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Tan Qi, researcher of the Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, were invited to make academic reports on the theme.
 
Academician Li Yu made a keynote report entitled”the role of edible fungi in building the overall pattern of food security”. From the three dimensions of the proposal and establishment of the concept of edible fungi as a big food, the role of edible fungi in food security, and the role of edible fungi in the overall pattern of food security, he deeply understood the value of edible fungi and the development prospect of edible fungi industry, and put forward the path and method of integrating edible fungi into the overall pattern of food security.

Starting with the characteristics and advantages of the edible fungi industry and the relationship between the production process of edible fungi and the natural environment, researcher Zhang Jinxia described the broad prospects of”China’s ecological development, edible fungi have great potential; stabilize the Chinese people’s rice bowl, edible fungi have great potential”. At the same time, he pointed out the difficulties of edible fungi production costs and deep integration into people’s consumption, as well as the blocking points and pain points of the development of edible fungi industry.
