Liberia’s new democracy reported on July 7 that some rice importers were not willing to import rice because the Liberian government failed to implement the agreement to provide a subsidy of US $14million to rice importers. Market analysts said that the current monthly average rice consumption of the country is about 900000 bags. According to this estimate, the rice reserves of the country will be exhausted in the next two months. At the same time, due to the poor management of the Liberian oil refining company, the problem of oil shortage in Liberia is also imminent.
