On July 21, the special management office for independent innovation of agricultural science and technology of Jiangsu Province organized experts to conduct on-site acceptance of the project”Research on key technologies for evaluation and utilization of special leaf color tea resources (Cx (19) 2011)” undertaken by the Leisure Agriculture Research Institute of Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
The expert group inspected the demonstration site of new tea varieties with special leaf color and their cultivation and management techniques located in Jiangsu tea germplasm resource garden in Yushan base, Yixing. The project team showed the expert group 15 new tea varieties (lines) with special leaf color introduced; The physiological characteristics and tea making characteristics of two self bred new varieties (lines) were introduced; The green prevention and control technology and nutrient management technology of major diseases and pests of tea with special leaf color were demonstrated; Three new products, namely”colorful tea”,”three jade yellow” and”three jade white”, and new products of”Yangxian purple tea” series, as well as the innovative utilization of tea varieties with special leaf color, were evaluated on the spot in the construction of ecological tea garden landscape and the development of leisure tourism agriculture. Through on-site investigation, on-site evaluation, debriefing, questioning and discussion, the expert group unanimously agreed that the project passed the on-site acceptance.
Jiangsu agricultural science and technology independent innovation project”Research on key technologies for evaluation and utilization of special leaf color tea resources” is jointly undertaken by the leisure Institute of our institute, Wuxi tea variety Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Liyang Tianmu Lake Qinyuan spring tea fruit professional cooperative. The project team has carried out a series of research and demonstration work around the project implementation plan. 15 new tea varieties (lines) with special leaf color introduced by the project; Two new varieties (lines) were independently selected and applied for the protection of new variety rights. During the implementation of the project, it integrated and demonstrated the special leaf color tea cultivation and management technology of”green prevention and control + organic substitution”, authorized 1 utility model patent, 1 design patent, applied for 1 invention patent, published 7 papers, created 3 new tea products with different leaf colors, carried out technical training twice, and organized 2 product recommendation meetings. Through the demonstration in the core bases (Yixing and Liyang), not only the farmers’ income increased significantly, but also the construction of high-quality tea brands was promoted. At the same time, the utilization mode of tea varieties with special leaf color was innovated, which played an important role in the construction of ecological tea garden landscape and the development of leisure tourism agriculture.
