EU funded the construction of beef processing plant in Katima, a city in northern Namibia

Na’s Ministry of Agriculture announced this week that it would build a beef export processing plant in Katima, Zambezi region in the north, covering an area of about 5 hectares, the Sun reported. Nghituwamata, the executive director of the Ministry of agriculture, said the project included the construction of processing plants and quarantine facilities, as well as the upgrading of sachinga animal husbandry development center. The total amount is expected to be about 35million Na Yuan (about 2.2 million US dollars), which is part of the total basket of EU aid through the 11th European Development Fund. The implementation of the project is also in line with the plan for the development of beef value chain in northern public areas proposed in the second phase of the solidarity and prosperity plan.
