According to media reports, eastern Canada imported 660000 tons of nitrogen fertilizer from Russia in the past, accounting for 85-90%of the province’s trade volume.
The media said:”the price has increased by 35%, and the electricity and gasoline costs after inflation have put pressure on the price of raw materials and commodities.”
According to media sources, Canadian farmers therefore called on the government to assess the consequences of their actions and request funds to compensate those affected by the tariff rise.
Earlier, Statistics Canada reported that consumer prices in the country rose 8.1%annually in June, the highest since 1983.
