At present, the world situation is unfolding in an unprecedented way. The global covid-19 has been raging for nearly three years, and the global economy has entered a long period of weak growth and rising inflation. In the first half of 2022, China’s canned product export enterprises rose to the challenge, worked hard to overcome the pressure, promote production, stabilize trade, highlight the strong resilience of the industry, and played an important role in implementing the”six stabilities” and”six guarantees” for China’s economic construction and Rural Revitalization.

 I. General Situation of China’s canned products export in the first half of 2022

In the first half of 2022, due to a series of factors such as the COVID-19 and the continuation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the international canning capacity has not yet fully recovered, and the demand for China’s canned products continued to grow. In addition, due to the low export base in 2021, China’s total canned exports in the first half of this year achieved a high growth compared with the previous year. However, due to the high production costs, although the sea freight has been reduced, it remains high, resulting in the excessive growth of the export volume and the cumulative average price of products.

The cumulative average price increased by 21.23%over the same period last year. Among them, 21500 tons of canned meat and poultry, worth $72.8989 million; 170600 tons of canned aquatic products, worth 869 million US dollars; 453800 tons of canned fruits, worth 720million US dollars; 715300 tons of canned vegetables, worth 812 million US dollars; 151700 tons of edible fungus cans, worth 864million US dollars; Other types of cans are 34800 tons, worth 110million US dollars.
