Brazil plans to formulate a list of banned veterinary drugs

On July 22, 2022, the Brazilian Ministry of agriculture, animal husbandry and supply (mapa) issued regulation No. 623 through the official gazette, which is the draft list of veterinary drugs prohibited in the breeding and production of raw animals for food of animal origin. Specifically, it includes chloramphenicol, nitrofuran, chlorpromazine, metronidazole, quinolones, natural or synthetic metabolic hormones β Receptor agonists and other 34 kinds of veterinary drugs, and the feedback period of the draft is up to September 23, 2022.
