On the eve of the Dragon Boat Festival, the Anhui Provincial Market Supervision Administration organized a special supervision and random inspection of food safety during the 2021 Dragon Boat Festival. Up to now, 117 batches of samples of 2 types of food including pastries (mung bean cakes, rice dumplings) and egg products (salted duck eggs) have been sampled across the province. According to the inspection and determination of national food safety standards, among the 117 batches of samples, 114 batches of qualified samples and 3 batches of unqualified samples (see appendix) are included in sampling inspection items. The unqualified samples involve food additives and other issues.
For the unqualified food found in the random inspection, the Provincial Market Supervision Bureau has instructed the Chizhou market supervision department to immediately organize the inspection and disposal, check the product flow, and take measures such as removing the unqualified product from the shelf to control the risk; for violations of laws and regulations, Strictly deal with in accordance with the law. The above-mentioned territorial market supervision departments shall promptly disclose the verification and disposal status to the public. If it is found during the investigation that the duties of other departments are involved, the relevant information shall be notified to the relevant functional departments.

Food additive problem
1. Dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt (calculated as dehydroacetic acid) of mung bean cakes sold by Chizhou Wusha Xinsheng Department Store and produced by Ligang Food Factory in Guichi District, Chizhou City, do not meet the national food safety standards Regulations. 2. The mung bean cakes sold by Chizhou Wusha Xinsheng Department Store and produced by Chizhou Yinhui Yeji Food Factory, dehydroacetic acid and its sodium salt (calculated as dehydroacetic acid) do not meet the national food safety standards. The inspection agency is the Anhui Provincial Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute.
3. The mung bean cake sold by Yijia Supermarket in Pingtian Lake Scenic Area, Chizhou City, and the mung bean cake produced by Chizhou Yanyan Food Factory. Propionic acid and its sodium salt and calcium salt (calculated as propionic acid) do not meet food safety National standard regulations. The inspection agency is the Anhui Provincial Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute.
The market supervision department reminds consumers that when buying food, they must go through formal and reliable channels and keep the corresponding shopping voucher.
