Week 13 of 2021 (March 29-April 2) Ex-factory price monitoring report of lean white pork
By: Date: 2021-04-08 Categories: industrynews Tags: ,
According to the joint monitoring of the Information Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Shandong Zhuochuang Information Co., Ltd., the 13th week of 2021 (ie March 29-April 2, 2021, hereinafter referred to as this week), 16 provinces (municipalities directly under the Central Government) The weekly average of the total ex-factory price index of lean white striped pork was 31.13 yuan per kilogram, down 6.4%month-on-month and 30.9%year-on-year, an increase of 3.4 percentage points from last week.
This week, the domestic ex-factory price of lean white striped pork (hereinafter referred to as the”pork price”) fell from the previous month. At the end of the month, large-scale farms increased their slaughter volume in order to complete the monthly plan. In addition, farmers’ expectations for market prices were reduced, their enthusiasm for slaughter increased, and the supply of live pigs increased in a short period of time. At the same time, Tomb-sweeping Festival has little effect in boosting demand, and terminal demand is still weak. In addition, affected by low-priced frozen products, slaughter companies have lowered their prices for smooth sales, and prices of live pigs and pork have fallen.

   1. Pork prices in the Northeast region fell month-on-month and the year-on-year decline expanded

This week, the average weekly price of pork in Northeast China was 27.47 yuan per kilogram, down 8.9%month-on-month and 34.4%year-on-year, an increase of 3.7%from last week.
The price of pork in the Northeast region fell this week from the previous month. Due to the decrease in the demand for 140 kg of large-weight live pigs in the southern market, and the further strengthening of live pig transfer supervision in some areas, the amount of live pigs in the northeast region has decreased; farmers worry about the market outlook and actively sell live pigs, resulting in an increase in the supply of live pigs in the region. Terminal demand is still sluggish, the pork sales market is highly competitive, and the prices of live pigs and pork fell during the week.

   2. Pork prices in North China fell month-on-month and the year-on-year decline expanded

This week, the weekly average price of pork in North China was 29.66 yuan per kilogram, a decrease of 7.0%from the previous month and a year-on-year decrease of 33.1%, an increase of 4.3 percentage points from last week.
This week, pork prices in North China fell from a month-on-month period. The limited supply of live pigs, coupled with local farmers’ concerns about the market outlook and active slaughter, the supply of live pigs is abundant. There is no significant improvement in demand for the time being. The sales pressure of slaughter companies is on the high side, and pork prices continue to fall this week.

  3. Pork prices in Central China fell month-on-month and the year-on-year decline expanded
This week, the weekly average price of pork in Central China was 31.28 yuan per kilogram, down 5.8%month-on-month and 30.7%year-on-year, an increase of 2.7 percentage points from last week.
This week, pork prices in Central China fell from a month-on-month period. The early part of the week coincided with the end of the month, and large-scale farms concentrated on slaughter in order to complete the monthly plan, resulting in a large supply of large-weight live pigs. In addition, there was no obvious positive boost on the demand side, and the prices of live pigs and pork fell during the week.

  4. Pork prices in East China fell month-on-month and the year-on-year decline expanded

This week, the average weekly price of pork in East China was 31.64 yuan per kilogram, down 6.3%month-on-month and 30.5%year-on-year, an increase of 3.1 percentage points from last week.
The price of pork in East China dropped from a month earlier this week. Breeders and large-scale farms actively sell large-weight live pigs, but due to poor external adjustments, there is a serious backlog of large-weight live pigs in this area, which drags down the price of 110-130 kg standard-weight live pigs. Tomb-sweeping Festival did not significantly boost demand, but slaughter companies are still under great sales pressure, and pork prices continue to fall.

  5. Pork prices in Sichuan and Guangdong all fell month-on-month and the year-on-year decline expanded

This week, the weekly average price of Sichuan pork was 33.55 yuan per kilogram, down 5.0%month-on-month and 29.7%year-on-year, an increase of 1.4 percentage points from last week. Sichuan’s large-scale farms are under pressure to sell at the end of the month, and most of them are selling at lower prices; coupled with poor downstream consumer demand, there are fewer orders for white striped pork, and the prices of live pigs and pork continue to fall.
This week, the average weekly price of pork in Guangdong was 35.65 yuan per kilogram, a decrease of 4.4%from the previous month and a year-on-year decrease of 24.8%, an increase of 0.6 percentage point from last week. Due to the large north-south price gap and concerns about further restrictions on the transfer of live pigs from April 1st, a large number of pig sources from other provinces were transferred to Guangdong, resulting in an increase in the supply of live pigs in the province, especially the oversupply of large-weight live pigs, and the prices of live pigs and pork fell month-on-month. .
