Viral septicaemia outbreak in Italy

  Food Partner Network News According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on April 7, 2021, the Italian Ministry of Veterinary Public Health reported to OIE that an outbreak of viral hemorrhagic sepsis occurred in Italy.

   The outbreak occurred in Chismond del Grappa, Vicenza, Veneto, and it was confirmed on April 1, 2021. The source of the epidemic is unknown or uncertain. Clinical and laboratory tests revealed that 10,600 rainbow trouts were suspected of being infected, and 600 of them became ill and died.
  The epidemic is not over yet, and the Italian Ministry of Veterinary Public Health will submit a follow-up report every week.
