Ukrainian corn exports in the first half of 2020/21 fall by 25%

  News from Kyiv, April 6:According to Ukrainian government data, in the first half of 2020/21 (October to September), Ukraine exported 15.9 million tons of corn, a decrease of 25%from the 21.1 million tons in the same period last year.

   This year, China is still the main importer of Ukrainian corn. Between October 2020 and March 2021, China imported 6 million tons of corn from Ukraine, a year-on-year increase of 2.2 times. China’s share of Ukraine’s total corn exports is 38%.
   In the same period, the EU imported 5 million tons of corn from Ukraine, a year-on-year decrease of 39%. The EU’s share is 31%.
   Between October 2020 and March 2021, Egypt imported 1.7 million tons of Ukrainian corn, a 43%decrease from the same period last year. The share is 11%.
  APK-Inform predicts that Ukraine will export 23.2 million tons of corn in 2020/21. Therefore, the export volume has accounted for 68%of the export potential.
