Food Partner Network News According to the US Federal Register, on April 16, 2021, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) of the United States Department of Agriculture issued Document 2021-07747, regarding the import of fresh avocados from Ecuador. Solicit opinions on pest risks.

  We are reopening the comment period for a proposed rule to allow the importation of commercial avocados from continental Ecuador into the continental United States after taking a new pest into co nsideration and including additional phytosanitary measures. We are also notifying the public of the availability of a revised pest risk assessment and revised risk management document associated with this notice. This action will allow interested persons additional time to prepare and submit comments.
