The Russian government once again adjusted export tariffs on some oil crops and imposed tariffs on edible oil exports

   Russian News Agency reported on March 27 that on March 26, the Russian Economic Development and Integration Government Committee’s Tariff and Non-tariff Regulation and Foreign Trade Protection Measures Sub-Committee Meeting made Decision on adjusting export tariffs of some oil crops and imposing tariffs on edible oil exports:1. The floating tariff system for sunflower oil exports from September 1, 2021 to September 1, 2022, according to the”export tariff=(determined by the Ministry of Agriculture) The guidance price-global benchmark price) × 70%” to calculate export tariffs. The guidance price of the Ministry of Agriculture is determined according to the data of Thomson Reuters. The global benchmark price is US$1,000/ton. 2. From July 1, 2021 to September 1, 2022, the export tariff on sunflower seeds will be increased from 30%with no less than 165 euros per ton to 50%and no less than 320 US dollars per ton. 3. Extend the current rapeseed export tariff (30%and no less than 165 euros per ton) to September 1, 2022. The above-mentioned measures of the Russian government are aimed at ensuring domestic market demand and stabilizing prices.
