Thailand’s first bovine nodular skin disease outbreak

Food Partner Network News According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on April 9, 2021, the Animal Husbandry Development Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture Cooperation of Thailand reported to OIE that a bovine nodular skin disease had occurred in Thailand epidemic.

   The outbreak occurred in Panong Pai County, Roi Et Prefecture, which was confirmed on April 5, 2021. The source of the epidemic is unknown or uncertain. Laboratory tests revealed that 1,888 cattle were suspected of being infected, 10 of them were sick, and 10 were killed and disposed of.
   The epidemic has not yet ended, and the Animal Husbandry Development Bureau of the Ministry of Agricultural Cooperation of Thailand will submit follow-up epidemic reports every week.
