South Korean Ministry of Food and Drugs develops true and false identification technology for food ingredients

  Food Partner Network News On April 19th, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea issued a message stating that the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of South Korea has developed 118 food ingredients through genetic analysis in the past 6 years The method for identifying the true and false of the food is published in the”Genetic Analysis Method for Identifying the True and False of the Raw Materials Used in Food (II)”.
  The genetic identification method was developed to prevent food ingredients that look similar to freshwater fish, red minced fish, bream fish, busiri, etc. that are indistinguishable by the naked eye from being disguised as expensive raw materials for sale or for cooking and processing.
The food that can be distinguished by the analysis method includes 57 kinds of animal raw materials such as yellow croaker, bream, black sea bream, and prawns, and 61 kinds of plant raw materials such as grass silkworm, acanthopanax senticosus and milk thistle.
