  Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued the”Decision of the Ministry of Education on the Award of Scientific Research Outstanding Achievements in Higher Education Institutions (Science and Technology) in 2020″ (Jokexin [2021] No. 1), which was reviewed by the Review Committee and approved by the Award Committee , A total of 288 projects were awarded 2020 college scientific research outstanding achievement awards (science and technology), and 8 individual youth science awards. The”Precise Immune Identification and Rapid Detection Technology of Chemical Contaminants in Food” project hosted by Professor Lei Hongtao from the School of Food Science and Technology of South China Agricultural University won the first prize of the Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award (Science and Technology) Technology Invention Award of the colleges and universities. This is the first time that the school has won the first prize of the Ministry of Education’s Outstanding Achievement Award in the direction of food science, and it is also a major progress made by the school’s food science and engineering discipline in the construction of a high-level university.
   The project of”Precise Immune Identification and Rapid Detection Technology of Chemical Contaminants in Food” was jointly completed by our school, Jiangnan University, and Guangzhou Wanlian Biotechnology Co., Ltd. The main participants are Lei Hongtao, Xu Zhenlin, Yang Jinyi, Sun Xiulan, Shen Yudong , Wang Hong. The project aims to develop fast, sensitive, accurate, and high-throughput rapid detection technology in response to problems such as weak theoretical basis for precise immune recognition of chemical contaminants in food, difficulty in preparing specific antibodies, insufficient method sensitivity, and single detection format. The antigen-antibody recognition mechanism, antibody performance regulation and new rapid detection technology have been systematically studied, and the ultra-small molecule antibody preparation technology and antibody-specific regulation technology system have been innovatively constructed, successfully guiding the hapten/antigen design, and breaking through histamine, The difficulty of preparing specific antibodies for ultra-small molecules such as acrylamide and ethyl urethane has realized the broad-spectrum and specific identification of harmful substances such as ochratoxin, quinolone, and microcystin; established a portable immunochromatography based on smart phones, A series of rapid detection technologies such as homogeneous high-throughput fluorescence polarization immunoassay and ultra-sensitive chemiluminescence immunoassay. The project has obtained 33 authorized invention patents, published 51 papers, published 3 monographs, 5 software copyrights, and published 2 group standards. The economic and social benefits are significant.
