South Africa launches new version of phytosanitary certificate for re-export

γ€€γ€€ On April 7, 2021, South Africa notified the WTO of the draft directive (G/SPS/N/ZAF/73). South Africa has launched a new version of the phytosanitary certificate for re-export from April 1, 2021. The new certificate has the following security features:1. The certificate has two numbers:there is a barcode in the upper right corner, which is the document number; 2. There is also a barcode and a QR code, which increase the anti-counterfeiting factor; 3. The phytosanitary certificate number is located at 2. Between dimension code and barcode. Each issued phytosanitary certificate has one and only one certificate number; 4. The new phytosanitary certificate number format is NPPO-ZA/year/month/number; 5. The electronic phytosanitary certificate only contains the new phytosanitary certificate number ; 6. The phytosanitary certificate will be printed on ordinary A4 printing paper. Trading partners should note that South Africa will stop using old phytosanitary certificates in international trade.
