Strengthening the surveillance of food-borne diseases is an important part of our committee’s cooperation in the 100-day campaign to rectify food safety. Our province has established a foodborne disease surveillance system covering the whole province. The monitoring points cover 11 cities, 117 counties (cities, districts), 577 hospitals and 1683 primary medical and health institutions in the province. The surveillance content is sporadic cases and outbreaks of foodborne diseases. Since last year, monitoring points across the province have collected 32,534 pieces of foodborne disease case information, and reported 147 foodborne disease outbreaks, all of which have been promptly and effectively dealt with.
