Israel plans to revise the standards for pickled fruits and vegetables

   On April 6, 2021, Israel issued its revised opinions on the standards for pickled fruits and vegetables.

  The revised part intends to adopt the Video Codex Standard CXS260-2007, which is applicable to all kinds of fruits and vegetables, except pickled cucumbers, kimchi, olives, sauerkraut, chutney and condiments. The revised content includes:
  1. The scope of this standard does not apply to deep-processed products;
  2. Sealing products should also meet the requirements of the Israeli mandatory standard SI 143;
  3. Additives should comply with relevant mandatory standards, such as olive oil should comply with SI 191, salt should comply with SI 411, and oil should comply with SI 1160;
  4. Sugar and syrup are required to comply with the Israeli mandatory standard SI 356, etc.
  The feedback period is within 60 days from the date of publication.
