H5 highly pathogenic influenza A outbreak in Ukraine

 Food Partner Network News According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on April 5, 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture Policy and Food of Ukraine reported to OIE that a highly pathogenic H5 influenza A had occurred in Ukraine epidemic.

   The outbreak occurred in the Zoftnevi District of Nikolayev Oblast, which was confirmed on April 2, 2021. The source of the epidemic was exposure to wild species. Laboratory tests revealed that 4 red-footed falcons became ill and died.
  The epidemic has not yet ended. The Ministry of Agriculture Policy and Food of Ukraine will submit a follow-up report every week.
