Food is a characteristic and advantageous industry of Guizhou’s industrial economy. In 2020, the industry will generally show a trend of”large scale, improved quality and efficiency, and overall improvement”.
The scale of development continues to grow. According to statistics, in 2020, Guizhou’s food industry will complete an output value of 275.3 billion yuan; the completed industrial added value will increase by 6.3%year-on-year, and its contribution to Guizhou’s industrial economy will reach 38%.

In 2020, there will be 825 food companies above designated size in the province, achieving main operating income of 184.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.2%; realizing total profits of 75.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.2%; realizing total taxes of 31.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%.
Industry development vitality is enhanced. The output value of the agricultural and sideline food processing industry was 28.289 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.6%. The total output value of the food manufacturing industry was 18.03 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.1%; the completed output value of wine, beverages and refined tea was 142.273 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.2%.
The output of main products has risen and fallen. The output of pepper products in the province was 455,800 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.9%; the output of dairy products was 170,400 tons, a year-on-year increase of 25.6%; the output of refined edible vegetable oil was 96,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.4%; the output of liquor was 266,200 kiloliters, a year-on-year decrease of 2.8%.
