Brazil’s cotton exports in the first quarter set a historical record for the same period

Brazil’s”Agricultural Channel” reported on April 12 that according to the news released by the Brazilian Cotton Exporters Association (Anea) on Monday, Brazil exported 731,400 tons of cotton in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 18%compared to the 619,500 tons in the same period last year. Set a new historical record in the same period.

  Anea predicts that in 2020-2021 (July 2020-June 2021), Brazil will export 2.3 million tons of cotton, an increase of 21%compared to the previous year’s 1.91 million tons. Brazil is the world’s second largest cotton exporter after the United States. China is the world’s largest cotton importer and the largest export destination of Brazilian cotton. Other major importers of Brazilian cotton include Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey and Indonesia.
