News from Washington, March 8:The weekly export inspection report issued by the USDA showed that the number of soybeans shipped by the United States to China (mainland) last week was 36%lower than the previous week.
As of March 4, 2021, the United States shipped 213,569 tons of soybeans to China (Mainland China). The United States shipped 333,597 tons of soybeans to China (Mainland China) the previous week.
US soybean export inspections to China accounted for 36.3%of the total export inspections that week, compared with 37.9%last week and 21.6%two weeks ago.
The US Department of Agriculture’s February 2021 supply and demand report predicts that China’s soybean imports for 2020/21 (October to September of the following year) are expected to be 100 million tons, which is the same as the January forecast. China’s soybean imports in 2019/20 are 98.53 million tons.
