The U.S. adds India to the list of regions affected by African swine fever

Food Partners News According to the US Federal Register, on March 25, 2021, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) of the United States Department of Agriculture issued Document 2021-06172, adding India to the African swine fever List of regions.

   It is understood that on May 9, 2020, the Indian Veterinary Service reported the occurrence of African swine fever in the country to APHIS in the United States. In response to this epidemic, APHIS of the United States added India to the list of regions affected by African swine fever on May 13, 2020. Therefore, pork and pork products (including casings) exported from India to the United States will be subject to import restrictions.
