  Food Partner Network News On March 29, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea plans to formulate the”Implementation Rules of the Special Law on Imported Food Safety Management”, the main contents are as follows:
  1. The hygienic assessment cycle of OEM foods imported for the first time starts from the date of issuance of the initial import declaration confirmation certificate of the category, and the hygienic assessment cycle of unqualified food starts from the date of non-conformity notification.
  2. When the same product of the same production enterprise (or overseas factory) is imported by multiple importers, the sanitary assessment can be carried out and the assessment results can be mutually recognized; when most products are imported from the same production enterprise (or overseas factory), the same production The process can be subjected to the same type of hygiene assessment.
  3. According to the travel alert system operating policy, where the overseas production company (or overseas factory) is located in the area with 3 stages (red alert), 4 stage (black alert), and special travel alert alert, the on-site sanitation assessment can be postponed.
  4. During the sanitation evaluation cycle, if the manufacturer has conducted on-site inspections in accordance with Article 6 of the law, implement sanitation evaluations.
