Rabies outbreak in Armenia

  Food Partner Network News According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on March 22, 2021, the Armenian Ministry of Agriculture reported to OIE that there was an outbreak of rabies in Armenia.

   The outbreak occurred in Kotayk Province, Armenia, which was confirmed on February 12, 2021. The source of the epidemic is unknown or uncertain. Laboratory tests revealed that three dogs were suspected of being infected, one of them became ill and died, and the other two were vaccinated.
  The current epidemic has ended, and the Armenian Ministry of Agriculture will no longer submit follow-up reports.
