-French wheat exports to regions outside the EU increased in February
News on March 7:Government data show that French soft wheat exports to regions outside the EU increased in February 2021, as exports to Algeria and Morocco increased, which offset the decline in China.
In February, which is also the eighth month of 2020/21, France’s soft wheat exports to the EU and outside the United Kingdom amounted to 821,000 tons, an increase of 46.3%from the 561,000 tons in January and slightly higher than 12. The monthly level was lower than the peak of 877 thousand tons set in November.
In February, Algeria was still the number one destination for French wheat, with an import volume of 309,000 tons, the highest level so far this year. Morocco ranked second, importing 138,000 tons, which was the highest this year.
In February, France’s soft wheat exports to China amounted to 68,000 tons, that is, there was only one ship, which was consistent with January’s exports and continued the dull trend. China was the number one export destination of French soft wheat from October to December last year.
From July 2020 to February 2021, France exported 5 million tons of soft wheat to the EU and outside the United Kingdom. In contrast, FranceAgriMer, the crop office of the French Ministry of Agriculture, estimates the annual export volume of 7.45 million tons , Which will be the lowest in four years, because of the poor wheat harvest in France last summer.
