On March 23-24, under the joint guidance of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Danish Embassy, the Institute of Food and Nutrition Development (IFND) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA) jointly organized the”Food International Symposium on Cooperative Research on Efficient Utilization and Mitigation.
The seminar is the kick-off meeting to promote the implementation of the 2021 China-Denmark”Food Resource Utilization Efficiency, Food Loss and Waste Research” international cooperation project, focusing on”resources On the theme of “Efficient Utilization, Food Loss and Consumption Reduction”, Danish and Chinese experts and scholars in the field of food and nutrition were invited to share 13 wonderful academic reports and have lively discussions, mainly including the expected goals and strategic measures of Sino-Denmark strategic cooperation projects; some international organizations reduced Food loss and waste operation mechanism and main practice experience; Denmark’s water recycling and reuse practices and effects in the slaughtering process of food and animal products; and China’s improvement space and constraints to reduce food waste and loss, and China’s future consumption of dairy products will increase Trends and so on. The meeting clarified the overall goals and phased goals of China-Denmark cooperation, especially the key tasks and expected results of China-Denmark cooperation in 2021.
Reducing food loss and waste is an important means to ensure global food security and support global sustainable development. The seminar will help strengthen China and Denmark’s food loss and waste In-depth cooperation, especially how China, as a major agricultural producer and food consumer, can learn from the valuable experience of developed countries to ensure the safety of food quantity, quality and nutrition in China is of great significance.
The meeting lasts for two days and is held online and offline. More than 60 people including domestic and foreign experts, government officials, and business representatives attended the meeting.
