Ecuadorian shrimp exports to Russia increase by 56%

 From Intrafish’s news on March 22, in 2014, the Russian shrimp market fell sharply due to trade sanctions imposed by Russia and Western countries on each other. As the Russian shrimp market gradually recovers, Ecuadorian shrimp exporters are benefiting from it.

  According to data from the General Administration of Customs of the Russian Federation, Russia’s total shrimp imports in 2020 will increase by 20%year-on-year to 55,294 tons, valued at US$303 million.
   Ecuador has become the main country for exporting shrimp to Russia. Its export volume to Russia was 15,895 tons, an increase of 56%, followed by India with 11,463 tons and Greenland with 9,248 tons.
  In 2019, India, Greenland and China are Russia’s top three shrimp suppliers.
   In the first two months of this year, exports of Ecuadorian shrimp to Russia increased by 4%to 5.6 million pounds.
