An outbreak of SARS-COV-2 virus infection in Spain

Food Partner Network News According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on March 26, 2021, the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food notified OIE that a SARS-COV-2 virus infection occurred in Spain epidemic.

   The outbreak occurred in Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña, in the Autonomous Region of Galicia. It was confirmed on March 15, 2021. The source of the epidemic may be due to animal contact with infected workers. Laboratory tests revealed that 6,554 mustelidae animals were suspected of being infected, and 2 of them became ill.
  The epidemic has not yet ended, and the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will submit follow-up reports every week.
