It was confirmed by the Sichuan Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center that an African swine fever epidemic occurred in a pig farm in Xiaojin County, Aba Prefecture. There were 127 live pigs on the farm, 38 of them were ill, and 38 were dead. After being diagnosed by the Hubei Provincial Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center, an African swine fever epidemic was detected in a truck of illegally transported piglets from other provinces in Fancheng District, Xiangyang City. Of the 165 heads, 10 were ill and 5 died.
After the outbreak, the above two counties have immediately initiated emergency response in accordance with the requirements of the emergency implementation plan of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, scientifically delineated the epidemic point, the epidemic area and the threatened area, and culled the remaining pigs in the epidemic area. Cull pigs and dead pigs for harmless treatment. It is forbidden to transfer all live pigs and their products out of the lockdown area, and prohibit live pigs from entering the lockdown area. Carry out thorough cleaning and disinfection of relevant places, roads and transportation vehicles, and carry out large-scale inspections and disinfection of pig farms within the jurisdiction. Currently, epidemic management and epidemiological investigations are underway.
