U.S. Department of Agriculture raises wheat production and export forecasts in Kazakhstan

Interfax News Agency, Nur-Sultan, February 18th, the US Department of Agriculture released its February forecast report, raising the forecast of wheat production in Kazakhstan for the current agricultural year (July 2020-June 2021) by 14.1%to 1,426 10,000 tons; the forecast of Harbin wheat exports from the previous 6.8 million tons is raised to 7.3 million tons, and the forecast of imports remains 300,000 tons. It is estimated that as of July 1, 2021, Kazakhstan will carry over 1.69 million tons of grain stocks.

  According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, in 2020, Kazakhstan will harvest a total of 20.1 million tons of grain, with an average yield of 12.8 quintal/ha. It is estimated that the annual net grain output will be 18.5 million tons, and the potential for grain export will be 7-8 million tons.
   In 2019, Kazakhstan’s total grain output was 17.4 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 14.3%.
