The broad market space and development prospects have attracted many companies to further increase investment in condiments. The Big Data Information Center of China Condiment Association collected and sorted out some enterprise capacity planning information and conducted preliminary analysis.
According to the public information collected from 12 companies, it is conservatively estimated that more than 3 million tons of new production capacity will be officially put into operation in the condiment industry from the end of 2021 to 2022.
From the perspective of the category distribution of new capacity, it is mainly concentrated in soy sauce and compound seasonings. In particular, compound seasoning is a sub-category that has developed relatively fast in recent years. Chinese compound seasoning and hot pot seasoning are generally favored by enterprises. In addition, pickles and cooking wine will also have a large capacity to enter the market.
From the perspective of the distribution of production bases, they are mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Sichuan, Chongqing, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
Bai Yan, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Condiment Association, pointed out that the current large brand companies will be vigorously and rapidly expand and carry out a national layout. Will products with precise positioning and obvious differentiation be more popular? In favor, the backward production capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises will be cleared out quickly, and the concentration of the condiment industry and brand concentration will be improved.
