The EU approves 3-phytase produced by Komagataella phaffii CECT 13094 as a feed additive for fattening pigs and other animals

Food Partner Network News According to the Official Journal of the European Union, on February 24, 2021, the European Commission issued Regulation (EU) No. 2021/330, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1831/of the European Parliament and the Council. In 2003, 3-phytase (3-phytase) produced by Komagataella phaffii CECT 13094 was approved as a feed additive for fattening pigs, miniature pigs, fattening turkeys and breeding turkeys.

  According to the conditions specified in the appendix, the category of this additive authorized as an animal additive is”animal technology additive”, and the functional group is”digestive enhancer”. The authorization end date is March 17, 2031. This regulation shall take effect on the twentieth day from the date of promulgation.
