3. There are 3 types of Thai fried dough stick samples:crispy mini fried dough sticks, fluffy fried dough sticks and brand fried dough sticks. The content of acrylamide in these three types of Thai fried dough sticks are:0.31 mg/kg, 0.09 mg/kg and 0.05. mg/kg.

Supakij, director of the Medical Bureau, added that the content of acrylamide in Thai fried dough sticks was compared with the data of acrylamide risk assessment in Thai foods (such as fried banana chips, fried taro, French fries, etc.) in 2011. The results are:

1. The content of acrylamide in Thai fried dough sticks is similar to that in fried taro. The average content of acrylamide in fried taro is 0.14 mg/kg;

2. The content of acrylamide in Thai-style fried dough sticks is lower than the content of acrylamide in French fries. The average content of acrylamide in French fries is 0.71 mg/kg.

Supakij, director of the Medical Bureau, finally stated that Thai-style fried dough sticks sold in Bangkok and nearby areas are safe and no borax or polar substances have been found. It was also detected that the content of acrylamide in Thai fried dough sticks is still at a safe consumption level compared with the 2011 risk assessment data of acrylamide in Thai food.
