   Sao Tome and Principe’s media TELA-NON reported on February 9 that in 2020, Sao Tome’s palm oil exports surpassed cocoa for the first time, becoming Sao Tome’s main export product. According to relevant statistics, Sao Tome and Principe exported 4,882 tons of palm oil in 2020, which is twice the export volume of cocoa and 2,431 tons of cocoa.

   Located in the south of Sao Tome and Principe, the Agripalma palm oil producer is currently the largest company in Sao Tome and Principe. It started business in December 2019. It covers an area of ​​1,000 hectares and has approximately 900 employees. It is expected that palm oil will continue to lead Sao Tome’s exports in the next few years.
