Jiangsu announced 11 batches of unqualified samples involving the use of food additives, microbial contamination and quality indicators

  Food Partner Network News On February 5, the Jiangsu Provincial Market Supervision Administration announced that it has recently completed 539 batches of food safety supervision and sampling tasks, involving soy products, catering food, cakes, and wine. Category, processed food products, food additives, edible agricultural products, aquatic products, quick-frozen foods and seasonings Among them, there were 528 qualified samples and 11 batches of unqualified samples.
  Food additives detected in 4 batches of samples
   Among the unqualified samples, 4 batches of samples were found to have food additives. Among them, three batches of samples were found to have aluminum residues (dry samples, calculated as Al) that did not meet the national food safety standards. They were sold at Desheng Cake Shop, Yanxing West Road, Longgang Town, Yandu District, Yancheng City. Youtiao, youtiao sold by Zhangqing Food Store in Teyong Town, Sheyang County, Yancheng City, and Jellyfish Head (instant) produced by Jiangsu Haiyuan Food Co., Ltd., sold by Huai’an Suguo Supermarket (Huai’an) Co., Ltd. Jinhu Branch.
   Potassium aluminum sulfate (also known as potassium alum), aluminum ammonium sulfate (also known as ammonium alum) are commonly used leavening agents and stabilizers in food processing, and aluminum residues will be produced after use. Aluminum is not an essential trace element for the human body. It does not participate in normal physiological metabolism. It is accumulative. Excessive intake will affect the body’s absorption of iron, calcium and other components, leading to osteoporosis, anemia, and even affecting the development of nerve cells. The”National Food Safety Standard Food Additives Use Standard” (GB 2760-2014) stipulates that potassium aluminum sulfate and ammonium aluminum sulfate in fried noodle products should be used in appropriate amounts according to production needs, and the residual aluminum content is ≤100mg/kg (dry samples, Al based); potassium aluminum sulfate and ammonium aluminum sulfate in pickled aquatic products (only jellyfish) should be used in appropriate amounts according to production needs, and the residual amount of aluminum ≤500mg/kg (calculated as Al in instant jellyfish).
  Also, the nominal Japanese-style seasoning liquid produced by Yancheng Tianyu Brewing Co., Ltd. sold at Chaqiao Jimeron Department Store Supermarket in Xishan District, Wuxi City, detected the proportion of the maximum use amount of each of the preservatives when mixed use Both and neither meet the requirements of national food safety standards.
   Preservative is a food additive for the purpose of maintaining the original quality and nutritional value of food. It can inhibit the growth and reproduction of microorganisms, prevent food spoilage and prolong the shelf life. The”National Food Safety Standard Food Additives Use Standard” (GB 2760-2014) stipulates that when food additives with the same function (preservatives, etc.) are used in combination, the sum of the proportions of their respective amounts to the maximum use amount shall not exceed 1.
  1 batch of samples detected excessive coliform bacteria
   Among the unqualified samples, one batch of samples was found to exceed the standard of coliform bacteria, which were the chopsticks used by the Bowei restaurant in Hailing District, Taizhou City.
   Coliform is one of the commonly used indicator bacteria for food contamination at home and abroad. The detection of coliforms in the food indicates that it is more likely to be contaminated by pathogenic bacteria (such as Salmonella, Shigella, and pathogenic Escherichia coli). Excessive coliforms may be caused by contamination of packaging materials, or contamination of the environment by personnel, and incomplete sterilization of products with sterilization processes.
  6 batches of samples were found to be unqualified
   Among the unqualified samples, 6 batches of samples were found to be unqualified. Among them, three batches of samples were found to have alcohol levels that did not meet the national food safety standards. They were:Yancheng Dongtai New Cooperation Commercial Chain Co., Ltd. Liangduo Supermarket, the nominal name Suqian Yanghe Town Ming Brewing Co., Ltd. produced revolution Old wine; Yancheng Dongtai New Cooperation Commercial Chain Co., Ltd.   Alcoholicity is also called alcoholicity, which refers to the number of milliliters of ethanol (alcohol) in 100 milliliters of wine at 20°C, which is the percentage of volume (capacity). According to standards such as”Maotai-flavored liquor” (GB/T 26760-2011) and”Fresh-flavored liquor” GB/T 10781.2-2006), the allowable difference between the measured value of alcohol and the stated requirements on the product label is ±1.0%vol. The content should meet relevant requirements. The reason why the alcohol content does not meet the requirements stated on the product label may be that the packaging is not tight and the alcohol volatilizes; it may also be that the company uses low-alcohol alcohol as a high-grade alcohol.
   In addition, two batches of samples were found to have acid value (calculated as fat) that did not meet the national food safety standards. They were:black sesame seeds sold by Wangxiang Wenfeng supermarket franchise stores in Xinghua City, Taizhou City, Xingzhou City Black sesame seeds sold at Metro Supermarket in Huacheng.
  The acid value mainly reflects the rancidity of fats and oils in food. Excessive acid value will cause food to have a hala taste, and the aldehydes, ketones, and acids produced when exceeding the standard will destroy fat-soluble vitamins and cause gastrointestinal discomfort.”GB 19300-2014 National Food Safety Standard Nuts and Seed Foods” stipulates that the acid value (calculated as fat) (KOH) in nuts and seed foods should be ≤3mg/g.
   In addition, there is another batch of unqualified samples:the straw soles (scallion pancakes) produced by Jiangyin Xinjinji Food Co., Ltd. sold by Ouweishi Supermarket Chain Co., Ltd.    Regarding the unqualified food found in the supervision and random inspection, the Jiangsu Provincial Market Supervision Administration has instructed the relevant district-cities market supervision departments to immediately organize the disposal work, find out the product flow, and urge enterprises to take measures such as removing the unqualified products from the shelves and recalling them Control risks, deal with violations of laws and regulations in accordance with the law, and promptly disclose to the public the risk prevention and control measures taken by the enterprise and the verification and disposal status.
