H7N7 low pathogenic avian influenza outbreak in Italy

  Food Partner Network News According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on February 4, 2021, the Italian Ministry of Health reported to OIE that a H7N7 low pathogenic avian influenza occurred in Italy epidemic.

   The outbreak occurred in Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, and it was confirmed on January 30, 2020. The source of the epidemic is unknown or uncertain. Laboratory testing revealed that 83 poultry were suspected of being infected, 13 of which became ill.

  The epidemic is still continuing, and the Italian Ministry of Health will submit follow-up reports every week.
