H5N5 highly pathogenic influenza A outbreak in Austria

  Food Partner Network News According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on February 10, 2021, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health reported to OIE that a H5N5 highly pathogenic influenza A outbreak occurred in Austria.

   The outbreak occurred in Leibniz, Styria and was confirmed on February 10, 2021. The source of the epidemic is unknown or uncertain. Laboratory testing revealed that 2 mute swans had died.
  The epidemic is still continuing, and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health will submit follow-up reports every week.
