From SeafoodNews on February 10, South African fishermen are seeking new sales markets for West Coast rock lobsters. Since the outbreak, China has stopped importing South African lobsters, resulting in a sharp drop in prices.

From January 25 last year, before China stopped importing seafood, the export price of fresh South African rock lobster was R340 per kilogram. Soon after China announced the import ban, the value fell below R120.
Pedro Garcia, founder of the South African United Fisheries Front, said that the lobster industry is suffering from a serious disaster. We put all the”eggs” in one basket, that is, China.
