   During the”13th Five-Year Plan” period, Sichuan Province’s crop and livestock breeding research has achieved breakthrough results in the rice field. First, breakthroughs have been made in the selection and breeding of new varieties. For the first time, three japonica rice varieties with low heavy metal cadmium adsorption including”Dejing 6″ were cultivated. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recognized 6 varieties including”Deyou 4727″ and”Jingyou Huazhen” as super rice. 110 varieties including Chuankang Yousi Miao have passed the national examination and approval, and 207 new varieties including Deyou 4938 have passed the examination and approval. Compared with the”Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, Sichuan rice nationally approved varieties increased by 168.29%, high-quality rice varieties increased by 222.5%, and high-quality and high-yield varieties increased by 275%. The second is a breakthrough in molecular breeding technology innovation. Developed and optimized 37 molecular markers for resistance genes such as bacterial blight and rice blast resistance, key enzymes of starch synthesis and metabolism pathway, brown planthopper resistance genes Bph32 and BPH3 allelic variant sites, etc., and new hybrid rice varieties selected by molecular markers passed 16 approved. Completed the fine mapping of 11 new genes such as LC7, which has the effect of low adsorption of heavy metal cadmium, and completed the cloning and functional verification of 17 new genes, including BPH32, which has the effect of anti-planthopper. Third, breakthroughs have been made in the transformation and promotion of new varieties. The transformation rate of 207 certified varieties reached more than 50%, and the cumulative demonstration and promotion exceeded 140 million mu, of which more than 74 million mu were promoted in Sichuan.
