African swine fever outbreak in Hong Kong

Food Partner Network News According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on February 5, 2021, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of my country notified OIE that an outbreak of African swine fever occurred in Hong Kong .

   The outbreak occurred in Huangnidun, Yuen Long District, Hong Kong. It was confirmed on February 3, 2021. The source of the epidemic is unknown or uncertain. Clinical, autopsy and laboratory tests revealed that 3,200 pigs were suspected of being infected, of which 70 were diseased, 10 died, and 245 were killed and disposed of.
  The epidemic has not yet ended. The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will submit a follow-up report every week.
