Week 52 of 2020 (December 28-31, 2020) Weekly Monitoring of Lean White Pork Ex-factory Price
By: Date: 2021-01-05 Categories: industrynews Tags: ,
According to the joint monitoring of the Information Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Shandong Zhuochuang Information Co., Ltd., the 52nd week of 2020 (that is, December 28-31, 2020, Hereinafter referred to as this week), the weekly average of the total ex-factory price index of lean white pork in 16 provinces (municipalities directly under the Central Government) was 45.37 yuan per kilo, an increase of 5.1%month-on-month and a decrease of 0.2%year-on-year, which was 1.6 percentage points lower than last week.

The domestic ex-factory price of lean white striped pork (hereinafter referred to as the”pork price”) increased month-on-month this week. As the end of the year approaches, large-scale breeding farms and farmers have reduced their slaughter weight, and their enthusiasm for slaughter is not high. At the same time, snowfall in many parts of the country, high-speed closures or restrictions on traffic, hinder the transfer of live pigs, and the reduction in supply supports the rise of live pig prices, which drives the rise of pork prices.

   1. Pork prices in the Northeast region rose month-on-month and increased year-on-year

This week, the average weekly price of pork in Northeast China was 43.91 yuan per kilogram, up 5.4%month-on-month and 2.5%year-on-year, an increase of 1.4 percentage points from last week.

The price of pork in the Northeast region increased month-on-month this week. Due to the decrease in the stock of large-scale pigs, large-scale farms and farmers are bullish on the price of pigs, and the supply of pigs is reduced. At the same time, with the occurrence of the new crown epidemic in some areas, consumers are actively hoarding goods, which drives the increase in demand for pork. Both supply and demand are favorable to support the rise of live pig and pork prices.

To

This week, the weekly average price of pork in Central China was 45.22 yuan per kilogram, up 4.0%from the previous month and down 0.9%from the same period last year. , Which narrowed 1.0 percentage point from last week.

The price of pork in Central China increased month-on-month this week. Due to the production of pickled wax in the lakes and lakes in the early stage and the concentrated sale of local large-weight live pigs, the stock of suitable-weight live pigs has recently decreased. Large-scale farms and farmers have begun to reluctantly sell them, and their enthusiasm for slaughter has weakened. The reduction in supply supported the continuous rise in prices of live pigs and pork.

IV. Pork prices in East China increased month-on-month, while their year-on-year decline narrowed

This week, the weekly average price of pork in East China was 45.90 yuan per kilogram, up 5.4%from the previous month , Fell 1.0%year-on-year, 1.3 percentage points narrower than last week.

The price of pork in East China increased month-on-month this week. As the end of the year approaches, the number of live pigs from large-scale farms and farmers has decreased, and the tight supply has driven up the price of live pigs. At the same time, cooling and snowfall in some areas stimulated the growth of terminal pork consumption, and the increase in demand pushed up the price of pork.

  5. Sichuan pork prices rose from a month-on-month period, but from a year-on-year decline to a year-on-year rise; Guangdong pork prices rose from a month-on-month basis, and a year-on-year decline expanded

This week, the weekly average price of Sichuan pork was 48.08 yuan per kilogram, up 4.9%month-on-month and 0.5%year-on-year, an increase of 3.5 percentage points from last week. Due to the decrease in the inflow of pork from other provinces and the acceleration of local pork sales, slaughter companies have increased the price of pork to increase profitability.

This week, the average weekly price of pork in Guangdong was 46.72 yuan per kilo, up 4.9%month-on-month and down 6.4%year-on-year, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from last week. The decrease in the number of live pigs, coupled with the cooling stimulating the growth of terminal consumption, both supply and demand drive the price of live pigs and pork.
