Russian beef and poultry import quotas will remain unchanged in 2021

  Russian Agricultural Information Network reported on December 21 that the Russian government ordered that beef and poultry import quotas remain unchanged in 2021:fresh or frozen beef import quotas are 40,000 tons, of which 29,000 tons will be given to Eurasian Economic Union countries; The frozen beef import quota is 530,000 tons, of which 60,000 tons will be given to the EU and the United States, and 3,000 tons will be given to Costa Rica; the poultry meat import quota is still 364,000 tons. Russia has implemented a meat import quota system since 2003, with a zero tax rate within the quota and an additional tax rate of 65%. The Russian government plans to cancel beef import quotas from 2022, and the tax rate will be reduced from 50%(but not less than 1 euro per kilogram) to 27.5%.
